A Baptist Church...With A Saturday Twist

Our First Evangelistic Trip To Las Vegas

First TRip to Las VegasOn July 21, 2013, a small group from the church set up an IQ Test sign on Freemont Street Experience in Las Vegas to capture people’s attention, have conversations and share the gospel. We had a great time and sowed many seeds (see pictures), despite initial fears of how we would be received. A few memorable moments from that afternoon:

A bearded man dressed up as a bride stood near us and was initially unreceptive. After a while he warmed up to Pastor Bob and told us there are Christians with signs who come there and “annoy” people. Apparently they don’t have conversations at normal volume but just convey a message of condemnation. He accepted a tract and remained friendly. We pray he will continue to open up to the message of salvation when we return.

One family group enjoyed the IQ Test, took the good person test and confirmed their belief in Jesus. While they were still there, one of the women turned to new visitors and started sharing the gospel with them!

Sometimes the most unlikely people are the most interested. A young man talked to Bob for half an hour with question after question about Christianity. A young woman in sexy show garb came over to see what our IQ Test was all about. A tattooed man in a wheelchair was open to hear the gospel.

We also prayed with a number of people before they moved on, and we were glad to be a visible reminder in that place of a holy God who loves them but will hold them accountable; hence their need for a Savior for life in this world and the next in a wheelchair was open to hear the gospel.
